Technical Training Registration

One week left to register!

In order to meet the needs of districts participating in the online professional development courses, one-day November training sessions will be offered as two separate 3 hour sessions.

The first session will begin promptly at 8:30 AM and run until 11:30 AM. Sign in for the first session will occur from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. This session will be directed toward administration involved in implementation and will focus on planning for the 12-15 hour courses, the content of the K-3 Early Literacy series courses, and the components each district receives as part of the free professional development provided by PDE. This session is open to any team member to attend but does have a specific focus.

Lunch will be provided from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The second session will begin promptly at 12:30 PM and will conclude at 3:30 PM. Sign in for the second session will take place from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. The second session will focus on the technical aspects of getting started on the system provided to participating districts. How to register your teachers, how to set up a study group to take a course, and course monitoring will be covered. This session is available for any team member to attend.

The following members from each district are encouraged to attend at least one session during the day:

• Central office representative for staff development
• Elementary school principal from each participating elementary school (or assistant principal for staff development)
• Staff designated by the district that will work with the teachers and may be responsible for training other district users (e.g. teacher leaders, literacy coaches, department chairs, etc.)
• The person designated by the district that will setup the study groups using the online system (may be an administrator, but may also be the same designated staff representative from above)

Lunch will be provided for those attending the trainings. Attendees will receive Act 48 hours for the trainings.
