A: The eMBEDDED LEARNING Academy system of professional development, including the Early Literacy Series K-3 is provided to all PA schools by the PA Department of Education at no cost to the district.

A: It is recommended that the Guiding Principle courses be taken first, followed by the Word Study courses. Other topics of study in the series (i.e. Developing Comprehension) may be taken in any order based on individual teachers desired area(s) of professional growth. The courses do to not have a perquisite, it is at the district's discretion to select which topic of study and/or courses are selected. It is recommended that courses in a topic of study be complete in the prescribed order.

A: It is a district decision whether to include long-term substitute or part-time teachers in the professional development opportunity.
