Q: Is the self-study versions of the courses an option for CFF districts?
A: For teachers covered under the CFF professional development requirement, only the facilitated blended study group version of the courses can fulfill the mandate requirement. Q: Do the graduate courses count towards fulfilling the professional development requirement?
A: Yes, the graduate courses are facilitated study groups and will count toward meeting the professional development requirement. LSI will provide graduate study group facilitators for learners selecting this option.
Q: Must the courses be taken in a specific order?
A: The first and second courses are required to be taken in order. Courses 3, 4, and 5 may be taken in any order selected by the district.
Q: Do teachers near retirement have to take the courses?
A: Teachers within one year of retirement do not have to take the courses.
Q: Do long-term substitute or part-time teachers fall under the professional development requirement?
A: It is a district decision whether to include long-term substitute or part-time teachers in the professional development requirement.
